Below are my streaming recommendations for June across all of the major streaming platforms. I have tried to include multiple genres so I can hit all different tastes and moods. My hope is that I can spotlight new titles, as well as some previous releases that you may not have seen before!
APPLE TV
Cape Fear (2026 Series)
The devilish Max Cady has returned, this time in a 10-episode series produced by Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. The series stars the always-magnificent Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson, who play an attorney couple that were the defense attorney and prosecutor when Cady (Javier Bardem) was put away for murder. Now, years later, he has been exonerated for the crime, which has created a media circus around him and the case. But is he really innocent? Javier Bardem gives a villainous turn almost as eerie as his performance in NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN… but with a much better haircut. This version of the story is full of twists and I love how they adapted the story for present-day, focusing on the media’s love of true crime and everything that goes around it. Episodes will air weekly, beginning on June 5.

Christy (2025 Film)
CHRISTY was one of my most surprising watches of last year and I am so happy it’s finally out on streaming for more people to see. Starring Sydney Sweeney in the titular role, it tells the warts-and-all true story of boxing legend Christy Martin. At first, you may think the film is going to be a typical biopic, but if you don’t know Christy’s story, it is going to take you for an incredible ride. Try not to Google anything as you watch because you are sure to be just as surprised as I was about the hardships Christy has to endure and what it takes to be a true champion

Enlightened (2011 Series)
ENLIGHTENED, created by Mike White (WHITE LOTUS) is one of my favorite underrated dramedies. The series follows Amy Jellicoe (Laura Dern), a woman emerging from a nervous breakdown after her love life and professional life imploded. She is working to pick up the pieces after spending two months at a holistic wellness retreat. But despite her new meditative outlook on life, Amy is not going to forget (or forgive) those that hurt her. This is one of my favorite performances Dern has ever done and she deserved every award for this role. Unfortunately, this series ended after its second season, but there are still rumblings every now and then about a season three. Fingers crossed!

Send Help (2026 Film)
SEND HELP is a lightning storm of diabolical chaos that may make you do some soul-searching about who you hope wins out in the end. Linda (Rachel McAdams) and her new frat bro boss Bradley (Dylan O’Brien) are the only survivors of a plane crash that leaves them stranded on a desert island. Despite Bradley treating her horribly, the always-resourceful Linda jumps right into survival mode. However, Bradley can’t seem to fathom being stranded with someone he loathes. Will the two be able to work together long enough to secure a rescue or is the island alliance going to be short-lived? More dark comedy than horror, this film never takes its foot off the gas and is going to leave you wanting more.

The Testaments (2026 Series)
THE TESTAMENTS, a dystopian sequel to THE HANDMAIDS TALE, is my favorite new TV series this year. It picks up back in Gilead, focusing on a new generation of young women as they navigate living within a theocracy where women are seen as second-class citizens and their worth is centered around the ability to reproduce. I always loved that I could count on THE HANDMAIDS TALE to be consistently great, and THE TESTAMENTS proves that pristine track record has continued. All episodes are now streaming and a second season is coming next year.

The Last Dance (2020 Series)
With the NBA finals coming up, I thought I would include one of my favorite sports docuseries, THE LAST DANCE. The 10-episode series focuses on Michael Jordan’s career, particularly the 1997-1998 NBA season, his final with the Chicago Bulls. The documentary crew gets unprecedented access to Jordan himself, as well as his Bulls teammates, coaches, and opponents. THE LAST DANCE provides an insider, behind-the-scenes look at one of the most legendary athletes of all time and his ability to lead his team to greatness.

The Crash (2026 Film)
You know my suggestions are always going to come with a true crime recommendation, and the best true crime title I watched recently was THE CRASH. This documentary explores the 2022 case of Mackenzie Shirilla and whether she deliberately crashed her car into a brick wall, killing her boyfriend and friend. The filmmakers got incredible access to family members of Shirilla and the victims, the investigators, as well as friends of the people involved. I already followed this case closely through the judicial process, but was still super intrigued by what the documentary is able to flesh out.

Roofman (2025 Film)
Based on a stranger-than-fiction true story, ROOFMAN follows Jeff (Channing Tatum), a down on his luck military veteran who turns to a life of crime to make ends meet. He robs stores by entering through their roofs. But the gig doesn’t last for long, and when he is finally captured and imprisoned, the ever-resourceful Jeff finds a way to escape. Now on the run, Jeff takes refuge in a Toys-R-Us after hours, using the store’s inventory, especially its candy aisle, to stay alive. Writer/director Derek Cianfrance’s phenomenal script does a great job of balancing humor, drama, and heart while never excusing Jeff’s criminal activities. If you’re looking for a feel-good drama/romance, this if the one for you.

Seeking Persephone (2026 Series)
Set in northern England during the Regency era, the four-episode romance series follows Persephone (Ryann Bailey), a young woman that is unexpectedly betrothed to a prickly, wealthy duke (Will Kemp). She agrees to marry him in the hopes that it will elevate her family’s position and enable them to live comfortably for the rest of their lives. But when the ice between them thaws, Persephone and the duke come to realize they may have more between them than they originally thought, and this atypical match may lead to the love they have been searching for. This series, which was based off of a book by Sarah Eden, was made with a shoestring budget, but you would never know it. Its costumes, set design, and performances are all immaculate and shows just how much you can do when you have a great story. Season two is dependent on fan interest, so if you enjoy the show like I did, don’t be shy!

Off Campus (2026 Series)
My oh my, OFF CAMPUS had me in a chokehold and I fear it still hasn’t let go. No judgment please, but I watched this 8-episode series in one day, and many of my friends who have also watched it have done the same. At first I thought this was going to be more of a teeny bopper show, but boy was I wrong. It is a sexy, R-rated romance that centers around Hannah (Ella Bright), a college student with a crush on a hot local musician. In order to make him jealous in the hopes that he will notice her, she pretends to date Garrett (Belmont Cameli) the university’s hockey star. But as Hannah and Garrett’s ruse continues on, they start to realize they may have more chemistry than they initially thought. This series is full of all of the rom-com tropes you could possibly imagine, but tropes work for a reason and this series has me hook, line, and sinker.
